Dear Peter,
I have been intrigued by this enquiry but after searching my books on
Cornish mining as well as church and tudor history I have not found a
single lead, not even a mention of a religious dedication to St Margaret in
Cornwall. Having recently seen some Glanvill tombstones at Mary Tavy
church and the acknowledged fact that this Glanvill came from Tavistock I
wonder if the answer is lot a closer to home ie that St Margaret's was the
name given to a mining adventure in the mining area north of Tavistock,
which has now been forgotten. Just a suggestion.
