Last weekend, whilst in Dublin, I was taken to view the chimney cum
tower at Ballycorus, just to the south west. I was impressed with the
smelt mill flue running up the side of what I presume was originally a
tramway incline. By reading up in the 1922 Memoir recently republished
by the Mining History Group in Ireland I was able to glean something of
the history of the mine, which doesn't appear to have been much of a
mine, but I would be interested to discover something of the history and
the I.A. of the smelter below. Can anybody point me in the correct
direction.
