Dear Peter,
Very many thanks indeed for bringing this matter to the attention of the
m.base.. As a 'farmer' this matter is indeed of very great importance, as it
is to us all - in the whole, & as also to all cloven hoof animals. Wales,
where I have been for the last 2 weeks is clear of this wretched infliction,
and it would be 'nice' to keep it this way. In the Lake District, there are
signs up on all footpaths asking people to oblige in the matter - but there
are a few who are unfortunately ignoring same...... Your note to the base is
v.important, & I do hope that all will oblige your request - which I am sure
will be the case. No farmer will thank visitors anywhere just at the moment,
and this is obviously completely understandable. Hopefully the matter will be
cleared up shortly, & much is being done to achieve this goal - a pity that
the EU did not identify the World situation it to begin with & impose a ban -
yet, yet again, it is British farming that is taking the blame & a hammering
- as usual. Maybe when we are all eating EU produce & not our own, there will
be no problems............. ! But what a wasteland we will be - who wins?
Sorry to get into 'politics', but I am v.certain there will be no response to
this - I shall certainly not go further than this.
Thank you very much for your very responsible notice to the base.
Regards, Bernard.
