Managing Student Diversity using Electronic Resources
Thursday 21 February
An increasingly diverse student population - as well as increased student
numbers - has created a dialogue around the constructive implementation of
learning technologies by both tutors and students seeking an alternative to
traditional teaching and learning methods.
This event investigates the use of Virtual Learning Environments in Art
Design and Communication and their potential role in delivering a genuinely
inclusive higher education learning experience. The event will explore and
explain key features of commonly used VLEs (using WebCT and Blackboard as
examples).
It will also consider how this technology can be applied effectively in an
Art, Design and Communication context and how this would impact upon the
institution. It will discuss the value of a multi-agency approach by
identifying the needs of specific learner groups.
The event will include discussions and presentations and will include a
'hands-on' element within it.
Maximum number 30
