Dear Listmembers,
I have pasted below a call for volunteers for the upcoming
International Media Studies conference taking place in
London this summer. We thought that this would be a good
opportunity for students to attend the conference, while
also getting some conference work experience. If you could
forward this to interested parties it would be greatly
appreciated.
Thank you.
Susan.

Global Village or Global Image?
Representing Diversity and Difference
24-27 July 2001, London, UK.
Increasingly, we are faced with the notion that media

extent are different people, places and political
viewpoints linked together? Who is being excluded from
these representations? Are we moving towards a global
village or simply a global image? This conference offers a
unique forum for addressing the above questions and
encouraging discussions examining cultural diversity and
media between internationally recognised academics,
filmmakers, institutions, policy makers, and the wider
community.
