Hi Sue,
Following Museums and the Web 2001 I feel that the time is right to start a focus group for UK Museum web people. I first tried this 2 years ago (MuseWeb) but it did not build into anything as it was 'stand alone'. I now feel that the best way to get such a forum together would be to 'attach' it to an exisiting group, and MCG seems the most appropriate. I chatted to Fiona about this and she seemed to agree. I propose that we announce a 'round table' discussion during or after MCG with regard to setting up a meting of interested parties and to find out what people would want from such a group: eg bi monthly talks etc.
I feel that this would also raise awareness among web related staff at Museums: they often are not aware of the Group's existance!
Do you like the general idea?
cheers
Mike, Web Manager, NHM.
