* CALL FOR PAPERS *
The first two issues of 'Exchange Online: research papers
in art, media and design' are now published on -

The third issue, to follow in October, will have a new
theme concerning the making/showing/curating of online work
with particular reference to the online exhibition curated
for the UWE 'Exchange 2000' conference.

We would welcome contributions from those involved or
interested in the creation and curation of digital art.
Guidelines for submission are given below however if you
would like to contribute to this journal and need further

Guidelines for submission to 'Exchange online: research
papers in art, media and design'
-------------------------------------------------------
FORMAT:
Pages will be published in HTML. Editing will be kept to a
minimum. Please submit your paper as a .html or '.rtf'
file. Papers should be between 2000 and 5000 words and not
have been published elsewhere. A 150-word abstract should
precede the main text. Headings should be included on a
separate line. Lists can be included with bullet points.
Points should be omitted. eg Dr USA. Single quotation marks
should be used. Titles of papers, articles stories and
chapters in books should appear in quotation marks. Books,
films, plays and multimedia products etc should be
italicised.
REFERENCES:
Footnotes should be minimal.If they are necessary, please
use the Harvard system. Citations within the text should
therefore be (Bloggs: 34) with full references listed
alphabetically in the bibliography. For information on this

IMAGES:
Any images must be accompanied by an official permission to
publish them. Each author is responsible for copyright
permission, fees, and all legal permission for publication.
Images should be submitted separately as .jpg, .gif, .tiff,
.png. Images will be placed between paragraphs so images
should be named with their order in the text as part of
their name. Eg. Worden1.jpg All Mac images must also end
with .jpg.gif, .tiff, .png etc. Mark their place in the
text with their name on a separate line. Captions can be
included in italics under their name.
Maximum size of image is 270pixels wide for images to be
shown inline with text. Larger images can be submitted and
used as linked files from the inline image.
Other forms of media can be included as a linked file. For
example: mpeg. (If submitting this material, please send on
disk or CD-ROM, not as an attachment.)
COPYRIGHT:
Copyright of all pages will be attributed to UWE/original
authors. If the work is reprinted, due acknowledgement
should be made to this publication.
SUBMISSION:
Email submissions up to 1 October should be sent to Martin

send to Dew Harrison <[log in to unmask] Please
put EXCHANGE SUBMISSION in header of message.
If you wish to send on disk or CD through the post, please
send to Dew Harrison. (Address in signature).
Deadline for third issue 1 October 2001.
