...has disappeared! (or so we are told!)
<Sadly we have decided to temporarily remove this website>
I'm not the least bit sad. Is anyone else?
<somewhat vitriolic response>
It was the biggest response I've ever seen to a posting to this list.
It was heated, and made a large number of very good points. As far as
I am aware the author(s) of the site in question have neither
answered any of the questions posed to them, nor replied directly to
those who contacted them 'off-list' as well as on the list.
<We didn't realise that museum professionals in
the UK were so sensitive.>
I think that just goes to show how truly 'out of touch' the site's
authors really are. If they knew anything about the museum profession
at all they would not have put this web site up in the first place,
and in my view I'm very glad to be so sensitive about my professional
standards. It's awareness of issues like this which fosters high
standards and contributes to the excellent customer care in the he
ritage and museums sector.
<There were some messages of support and we thank
you for those.
>
In common I suspect with other list members, I'd be very interested
to see them, as they certainly weren't on this list! Perhaps I
Crawley Esq. only replies directly to the messages which he agrees
with? Mr Crawley, if you have any messages of support, please do us
the inestimable honour of sharing them with us.
Kind regards to all
Alasdair Joyce, (eccentric, cranky, vitriolic, sensitive, and all the
rest. But doing my best to be a professional as well.)
