Well, as it happens....
The next meeting of the MCG on the 7 and 8 June at the National Gallery in
London will include a panel discussion on the subject of 'UK museums on the
Net' (or Web if you prefer). Web site quality is an obvious area on which
the discussion could perhaps focus, although I am personally not in favour
of the 'name and shame approach' for reasons already given by other list
contributors. Do come along to the meeting (it is free) and share your
views. The MCG has a tradition of frank discussion and tries to encourage
museums whatever their size or status to share their valuable experiences
with others.
It is hoped that the panel discussion (on the second day of the MCG meeting)
will be a foretaste of a further meeting being organised later in the year
devoted entirely to 'UK museums on the Net'. Anyone interested in helping to
organise or contribute to this proposed meeting should e-mail me

Good idea. Perhaps the MCG could organise a solid half-day seminar on the
web topic at
the
next meeting with (permissioned) good & less-good examples as educational
points - it's not rocket
science? How about it Sue?
