Interviewing is an essential part of the information gathering process. The
one-on-one interview is the single most important method of learning about
an organisation's individual's activities, information systems and needs.

A skilfully managed interview can enable you to take effective briefs from
clients and colleagues and to conduct more efficient external research.
Interviewing skills are absolutely essential for information professionals
who wish to develop core internal consultancy skills.

This course will include demonstrations and practical sessions in such key
areas as formulating open questions, probing and taking notes.

Please find attached the full programme, with a link to the booking form.

'Competitive advantage in the knowledge economy no longer relates purely to
a product or service. It is much more dependent on the continuous
acquisition of new skills by people and companies and being ahead of the
competition in exploiting critical knowledge'

Message from the European Round Table of Industrialists to the Stockholm
European Council, March 2001, the ERT Task Force on the Knowledge Economy,
chaired by Sir Peter Bonfield

This seminar presents the results of a research project, undertaken on
behalf of isNTO by TFPL, to ascertain the skills requirements of the
information services workforce in the knowledge economy. The research took
the form of scenario planning workshops held in eight public and private
sector organisations. Participants, representing the whole organisation,
developed future scenarios for their organisations and discussed the
information challenges and skills requirements for each scenario.
