About the Course
Having the right level of information is essential. While the Internet
offers a growing volume of consumer-oriented health care information, it is
not well organsied and of variable quality.
The course will show participants how to cut through the maze of Internet
sources - providing advice on the essential retrieval and browsing tools and
help on how to get the best out of them. The course focuses on World Wide
Web sites and newslists - delegates will receive a list of key URLs for
future reference.
Talks interspersed with guided practical hands-on sessions.
The Speaker
The course leader is Sue Brain. She is librarian at NHS Direct Hampshire.
Who should attend
The course is suitable for patients, patient group organisers, carers and
health care professionals. It is aimed at tthose with a basic knowledge of
Internet applications.
