Others may perhaps have received an inquiry from Yusri Khaizran, a graduate
student at the Hebrew University, who seeks the Lebanese newspaper
al-Anba'. We have only a very limited run from 1949-50. OCLC says that
LC, UT Austin, and the University of Utah have some holdings of al-Anba'
published by al-Hizb al-Taqaddumi al-Ishtiraki. I don't know if this is
the same newspaper. Apparently LC referred Mr. Khaizran to the
Hoover. Does any other library out there have holdings of al-Anba',
published in Beirut? I have tried several online catalogs on the web but
without success, perhaps because it's the end of another long, long
week. One rather piquant possibility is the online archive of Lebanese
newspapers of AUB's Jafet library; but I was denied access. I will be
happy to forward positive responses to the inquirer, or he can be contacted
