I am enquiring of other librarians as to their experience and problems
noted of using any of the available filter options for search strategies. I
have been concerned about the variance of methodologic filters (RCT,
diagnosis, meta-analysis, specificity/sensitiviy etc)now available to
librarians/health care professionals and to the apparant abscence of
critical analysis in the librarianship literature on their use (McMaster
apart).
There are now several versions of RCT filters for the same interface - is
anyone at this moment carrying out a comparative study? Why are filters
publised on the web without discussion documents attached?
Inclusion/Exclusion criteria? What are the experiences and opinions of
other librarians?
I am actually a devotee of gold standard search strategies but would like
to open up more discussion on this very vital area.
