how questions
before looking at how we get internal support for the
intranet project, it is important to ensure that you can clearly explain
what is you are expecting the intranet project to achieve in terms of
objectives, measurements and strategy
10.30 understanding your audiences and their needs
too often intranets are associated with technology issues
and not business issues. this section looks at how you decide who the
audience is you are selling to (in terms of budgets, use and support) and
how you communicate to meet their needs
11.00 coffee
12.30 building the business case and who to sell it to
this will look at what the business case will need to cover,
how to build a financial justification and how to build a technical
justification. the issue of who to sell the messages to will also be
examined
12.45 lunch
13.45 creating an organisational structure to support your intranet
having received approval to create the intranet, what type
of structure is required to build, support and enhance it. this will look at
the relationship between it and the business and examine different
empowerment models for supporting content on the intranet
14.30 evolving the intranet
intranets should be treated as living and evolving. this
evolution should cover not only updates to existing content, but also new
content and an evolution towards an e-business solution for the organisation
15.15 tea
15.30 workshop - creating good practice
this workshop will split the delegates into groups and ask
them to come up with how they would solve issues associated with ensuring
the organisation is supportive of the intranet strategy, including:
* how to measure success
* how to communicate success
* how to get people using the intranet
16.15 action planning and summary
a summary of the content including a roadmap of how to move
forward
