LIBRARY ASSISTANTS (2 POSTS)
The Information Services Department is looking for two Library Assistants to
be members of its Library and Media Services Acquisitions team and Technical
Services team.
LIBRARY ASSISTANT (Acquisitions) – Ref: C3/IS/4
Duties include the ordering, receiving and accessioning of library materials
and following up queries with suppliers.
Experience of working with the Unicorn library acquisitions module would be
an advantage.
LIBRARY ASSISTANT (Technical Services) – Ref: C3/IS/5
Duties include the cataloguing of all categories of library material as well
as the processing of materials for shelf display and circulation.
Appropriate cataloguing experience, including the use of AACR and MARC,
would be an advantage.
For both posts, you must have experience of working in a library, of using
an automated library system and good keyboard skills. Good interpersonal
skills and the ability to work as a member of a team are essential.
Experience of working with the public, preferably in a library context, is
desirable.
For both posts, you will also be required to work regularly at one of the
Library's public service points.
Salary, for all posts, will be in the range £14,174-£16,072 inclusive of
London Allowance.
