SLIM - Special Librarians in the Midlands
The Library Association / Information Unlimited
E-GOVERNMENT
By 2005 all public services should be available electronically. But recent
press coverage has suggested that the timetable is a bit ambitious! The
short-term target is to have a quarter of services delivered electronically
by next year.
How will this affect us all? We are all users of government information at
a national or local level, both as citizens and in our working lives.
At the next SLIM meeting, Tonino Ciuffini, E-government Officer of
Warwickshire County Council, will give a general introduction to
e-government, looking at the government's targets and how they are being
implemented, and illustrating with examples from his own authority.
Everyone is welcome to the meeting whether you are in the corporate or
voluntary sector, whether you are in a one-person library or a larger unit.
This FREE event is co-supported by the Library Association and Information
Unlimited, the Midlands-based consultancy. The purpose of SLIM is to
encourage special librarians to get together for networking and professional
development. It is open to all special librarians in the Midlands.
DATE: Tuesday 18th September 2001
TIME: 6.00 pm to 8.00 pm
