GRADUATE TRAINEE POST NO A0478/INT
£9,063 - £12,519 pa (minimum £10,404 pa at age 21 )
LIS is offering a one-year trainee appointment to commence October 2001.
This post is suitable for a candidate with a good honours degree who is
seeking relevant academic library experience prior to taking a postgraduate
course in library and/or information work.
The post will be located in the User Support Team in the Boots Library on
the City Campus. You will work within a team providing a front-line service
delivering basic library, IT and AV assistance and information to individual
users in this very busy Library. In addition, as part of your preparation
for further professional training, your training programme will enable you
to shadow and participate in work undertaken by other teams within LIS.
Confidence in dealing with people and a good level of written and verbal
communication skills are essential. Skills in using library catalogues and
resources and/or basic knowledge of PCs and printers would be an advantage.
Hours of work: Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5pm.
