Subject: National Focus For Digitisation & Quality Assurance
Hello Everyone
The JISC have issued an invitation to tender (ITT) for the provision of a 2
year national focus for digitisation and quality assurance in the UK.
Previous projects have involved more experimental work, adding to a pool of
knowledge of good practice in the area of digitising materials for
educational use. However, now that more materials are being made available
electronically for learning, teaching & research, a new level of
accountability is required and it is important that the DNER moves to set
benchmarks and guidelines for standard approaches to the development of
these materials. These will ensure that digital resources meet DNER quality
requirements and thus are appropriate and adequate for users.
After an initial 2 year period, the JISC will look at whether quality
assurance in digital resource creation for education can be a permanent
addition to the existing JISC advisory services.
Further Information can be found at www.jisc.ac.uk/pub01/dig_and_qa.html
(There is an underscore between dig &b and & and & qa.
Susan.
