Dear All
We are currently in the midst of preparing our induction programme for
October. Traditionally we have provided physical tours of the library
throughout the first 3-4 weeks of term. This is very labour intensive and
we were wondering what approach other institutions take to this aspect of
the induction process.
I'd be interested to hear from other universities / colleges as to whether:
1. You provide physical tours of the library - and if so how many tours you
provide, how you staff them and how you control the numbers attending each
session.
2. If you have abandoned the traditional tour of the building what
alternative approach you have taken (video, virtual tour etc.)
Any comments on how successful you feel your approach to this part of the
induction process is would be most appreciated. I will of course summarise
replies for the list.
Many thanks
Wendy
