eVALUEd: developing an evaluation model for sustainable electronic library
developments
The Centre for Information Research (CIRT) is seeking to recruit two
researchers to a new project funded through the Higher Education Funding
Council for England (HEFCE) fund for Good Management Practice. The eVALUEd
project aims to investigate evaluation approaches to electronic library
developments in the higher education sector. The project will investigate
examples of good practice and issues surrounding the evaluation of
electronic libraries, the development and testing of suitable approaches to
electronic library evaluation and the production of a web-mounted
transferable model for electronic library evaluation. Both post holders
will be expected to work cohesively as a team, under the direction of the
eVALUEd Project Director.

The post holder will conduct a wide range of research activities and to be
responsible for the organisation of the fieldwork, literature collection,
project liaison, report writing, project dissemination and promotion.

The post holder will have an understanding of technical issues relating to
electronic libraries and their evaluation. The post holder will also
conduct research activities, as appropriate. In addition, the post holder
will have well-developed web design skills and be responsible for the
development of the project web site.
The salary will be in the range of RA 7 (£16,772) – RB4 (£19,423). Both
posts will be offered as two-year fixed term contracts, full-time
equivalent. Both posts are open to job share.
