We are working on development of a library intranet and I would be
interested to hear from University Libraries or similar who have gone in
for this in a serious way, beyond just having a few closed access web
pages.
We are thinking in terms of online document storage, cutting down on
printed circulation of materials, interactive booking, IT call logging,
rotas, widely accessible web-fronted databases for consumables,
inventory etc etc. We are interested both in use of commercial packages
used for this purpose, or in-house developments. And in the close
relationship between implementing the technology and necessary workflow,
policy and managerial changes to make a success of it.
Any information gratefully received.
