Many thanks to all of you who replied to my request for info re floor
signing. The responses are included below for inspiration:
1 Use stencilplate(s) and spray paint
2 Try a firm called SETON who send out catalogues to Estates or H&S
people at most colleges. They have all sorts of industry solutions and
I bet they could do something.
3 We are working on a signage project and had the idea of feet. We
only contacted one or two suppliers who said that feet do not last
long on carpet (better on stone/tiled flooring). If you do find
anything out from other lis-linkers, we would be grateful for your
results.
4 We have found that the used chewing gum our students spit out onto
the carpet makes an excellent adhesive.
5 We did at one point have some temporary feet to direct children to
a children's activity. As far as I remember they were just stuck on
with velcro or some such - I can't remember how we got them but if
you are stuck I will certainly try to find out. However they soon
kicked up and would not do as a permanent fixture. When we did our
refurbishment a couple of years ago we wondered about making them
permanent - we discussed it with our carpet fitter - he said it would
be possible to make them part of the actual carpet ie cutting out the
shape and inserting them but that it would be a pretty expensive job.
In the end we abandoned the idea
