Do you need to learn how to keep up to date with new social science Internet
based information?
Then come along to the ASSIGN workshop.

This afternoon event will provide you with:
* useful tips on effective use of the major search engines such as
Altavista
* advice on when and how to effectively use the main Information
gateways such as SOSIG - The Social Science Information Gateway
* The addresses of a selection of key Internet sites for the social
sciences
* Information on how to sign up to journal current awareness services,
useful email discussion lists and newsletters for locating new Internet
sites.
There will be opportunities for hands on activity and question answering.
The course will be lead by practising social science librarians. Handouts
will be provided.
