WARBURG INSTITUTE LIBARY, UNIVERSITY OF LONDON
The Warburg Institute is an institute of the School of Advanced Study of
the University. It is a postgraduate research Institute dedicated to the
study of cultural and intellectual history.
A cataloguer is required for the RSLP-funded Hogarth project to catalogue
art sales catalogues. This is a one year fixed term appointment from June
1st 2001 or as soon as possible thereafter.
The cataloguer will be one of a team of two working on the project.
Applicants will normally be expected to hold professional qualifications
in librarianship and should have experience of cataloguing from scratch
using AACR2 and MARC. Familiarity with Library of Congress Subject
Headings and with the INNOPAC library system would be an advantage.
A knowledge of modern European languages would be useful as would an
interest in art history.
Salary: 16,072 including London weighting. Leave entitlement will be five
weeks (25 working days) in addition to public holidays and Institute
closures. The Institute is normally closed for one week at Easter and one
week at Christmas.
