Can anyone help please?
We are currently investigating the possible provision of an electronic
enquiry service and would be very interested to hear what services other
libraries (especially academic) provide.
If your institution does provide such a service please could you provide
information about:
1. The type and level of service provided. e.g.
Is there just search provision of the library / instituions web
pages?
FAQ's only?
Email enquiries for full subject information? (i.e. requiring
research before replying)
Other?
2. To whom is the service available? e.g.
Members of the institution only?
Everyone?
3. Who answers the enquiries? e.g.
Dedicated enquiry service staff?
All professional staff?
All enquiry desk staff, professional and paraprofessional?
Others?
4. Is there a set response time for replying to enquiries?
5. What use is made of the service?
Any other information / comments about your experience would be greatly
appreciated.
Please reply to me directly and I will summarize for the list.
Many thanks
