Aslib Biosciences Group Annual Conference
**Weaving the Web: Biosciences Information in the 21st Century**
24th May 2001, 09.45-16.30
Zoological Society of London, Regent's Park, London
As living organisms evolve they gain more information about, and control over,
their environment. Does the same happen in the virtual world of biological
information? Are we still surfing like plankton, or are we building webs to
trap just what we want, like spiders? How much further can we go with this
analogy? The 2001 ASLIB Biosciences Conference will explore where we are now
and look at some possible future developments. Topics that will be covered
include web and deep web searching, e-tutorials, quality control on the web,
access to original work and archives.
