We are currently reviewing the pros and cons of outsourcing technical
services (aquisitions, cataloguing and processing) in a very large
library system, here in Australia. I would like to make contact with
other librarians who have been through the outsourcing process, so that
we can learn from their experience. Some of the questions I have in
mind include:

Did you use a single supplier?
What was the impact on productivity and turnover time for books being
shelf ready?
How did staff respond to outsourcing?
Where there significant disadvantages in outsourcing?
Did the benefits outweigh the costs?
