Need to improve your IT skills? Then why not attend:
Making the most of the Internet
A one day Library Association workshop on 1 March, in London
As the range of Internet information grows, there is a vital role for
librarians and information specialists in helping users to find useful
information.
This event is designed to help those with some experience of Internet usage
to gain a better understanding of how to exploit the Internet as a component
in the service for 'customers', including SMEs (small to medium sized
enterprises).
Benefits from attending?
It will help participants to understand the various methods of 'navigating'
through this large, but uncatalogued collection of information, with a
particular focus on search engines.
By the end of the event participants will have:
* the ability to identify the most relevant search service for an
enquiry
* the necessary know-how to choose the most appropriate search
technique to use
* explored how to interpret results effectively
The workshop includes up-to-date information about key issues and projects.
Who will benefit from attending?
Those who use the Internet already who would like to develop their searching
techniques further.
