Plase reply to me and not the list.
The University of Ulster Library Service introduced the wearing of
generic staff id badges in October 1999. We have now decided to
undertake a review of this initiative in the light of user feedback and
some staff resistance to wearing badges. To provide evidence of
policies adopted in other institutions, I would be very grateful to
receive responses on the following specific questions:
a. The reasons for introducing staff badges, or for deciding not to
introduce them
b. The detail on the badge whether generic or personalised (i.e.
with name, job title, photo, name of department or other details)
c. Whether wearing the badge was compulsory or voluntary for all
grades of staff at all times
d. From feedback gathered, how successful was the policy as
viewed by library staff and users
e. With the exception of cleaning, security and catering staff, do
other sections of your institution wear any form of id (eg IT User
Services or Computer staff, or others)
For anyone interested in this topic I will prepare a summary of
responses for the list,
Thank you,
