IAML:UK presents -
Advanced reference sources for music librarians
Thursday 26 April 2001
Royal College of Music, London
This course is designed to give staff working in music libraries, or with
music collections in multi-discipline libraries, the confidence to answer
music enquiries at an advanced level. It will cover mainly classical music,
and will raise awareness of recent resources, both printed and online, in
these areas.
At the end of the day participants will have
1) gained an understanding of the special considerations involved in
music enquiry work
2) widened their knowledge of a range of printed and electronic sources
3) picked up tips on making the most effective use of their reference
collections
4) improved their ability to choose the most effective sources for
their libraries
It is also an opportunity for participants to share their own knowledge and
expertise, and there will be plenty of time throughout the day to ask
questions.
The course runs from 9.30 to 16.00, and costs 50.00 (35.00 for IAML members,
20.00 for students), with discount for 3 or more bookings from one
institution.
Places are limited and are already going fast, so prompt application is
advised!
