The Distributed National Electronic Resource (DNER) is a
nationally managed information environment for further and
higher education, and the Resource Discovery Network (RDN)
is one of its most important service components. We are
seeking an enthusiastic, energetic, and experienced
Communications Manager to take a lead on marketing these
services.
The Communications Manager will be responsible for
implementing and continuing to develop our new PR and
Communications Strategy, and will be responsible for
launching a major rebranding exercise. S/he will develop
and manage strategic communications to external audiences
across public, heritage, and commercial sector audiences as
well as communications within our further and higher
education communities. Well-designed and executed
communications and awareness-raising campaigns are
absolutely essential, as is nurturing of the RDN and
soon-to-be-relaunched DNER brands, and building community
concensus. Unsurprisingly, this is a high profile national
position.
The post is available for two years in the first instance,
and secondments will be considered.
Salary will be within the ALC3 scale (£28,350 to £33,101
per annum inclusive of London Allowance).
