----------------------------------------------------------------
You are invited to attend a regional presentation on e-books and
netLibrary, delivered by the European arm of netLibrary.
The time for eBooks has arrived - they are now "virtually real"!
netLibrary Inc., a leading supplier of eBooks to the library space in
North America and the Far East has recently opened its European head
office in Windsor, Berkshire, due to the interest and increasing demand
and need for its services throughout Europe.
Such is the interest and, sometimes an accompanying confusion about
eBooks, that netLibrary's European arm has embarked upon a nationwide
series of seminars within the academic community.
These seminars are carried out in two distinct phases. Phase 1 takes
the form of a formal presentation of netLibrary, an eBook description,
how the company works with both publishers and libraries alike, the
technology required to use eBooks, the access models, pricing
structures, eBook advantages etc., all of which is followed by a Q and
A
session. Phase 2 of the seminar sees a live visit to netLibrary's
virtual library, where we browse and use the 32,000 eBooks on the site,
covering all functional aspects of the system and the multi-disciplined
ecollection.
The main object of these seminars is to disseminate as much netLibrary
eBook knowledge as possible, whilst explaining and showing the
navigational strengths and techniques of the system.
You are very welcome to attend such a seminar, which is free of charge
and will take place as follows:
APRIL 3rd
Durham University Library
Seminar Room, Level 4 of the Main Library

All are welcome - please circulate this information to any interested
