EFFECTIVE PREPARATION FOR JOB SEEKING : A course on CV preparation and
interview skills
A workshop organised by IIS Northern Branch.

This workshop is aimed at anyone looking for a job for the first time,
as a career progression or after a break. It will look at developing a
professional profile, applications and CVs, job hunting strategies,
interview techniques, forming an action plan.
At the end of the workshop participants should
- have a clearer idea of their skills, interests and motivations
- have developed a focus on the work they would like to do, and
recognised what they are not suited to do
- have had an opportunity to improve their current CV
- be able to evaluate their job seeking stretegy
- been able to evaluate and improve interview techniques
The workshop will be presented by Lawraine Wood. Lawraine set up her
training and consultancy business in 1997. In addition she teaches part
time at Manchester Metropolitan University, where she has responsibility
for students' career development. She works with Sue Hill Recruitment
and also has her own experience as an employerin interviewing job
applicants.
Cost: £50 IIS members, £60 non-members. This will include lunch.
