CoFHE Annual Study Conference
2001: a spatial experience
9th -12th April 2001
University of Nottingham, Jubilee Campus
The theme for the conference, to be held at the new Jubilee Campus of the
University of Nottingham, is "2001: a spatial experience". During three
themed days, speakers and delegates will discuss physical space (design of
academic libraries), electronic space (the Internet and electronic
information), and personal space (professional and personal development).
Speakers include: the Chief Executive of the Library Association, the
President of the National Union of Students, the Chairman of the University
of the Third Age, and leading figures from the DNER and the world of
architecture.
The venue, opened in 1999, provides delegates with comfortable modern
accommodation in en-suite single study bedrooms. Jubilee Campus has been
described as a "triumph of contemporary design", noted for a three-storey
atrium dining room and a state-of-the-art conference and teaching centre.
A pub walk, a quiz, great study visits (including a brewery, the Tales of
Robin Hood and Lord Byron's ancestral home) and lots of opportunity to
network with fellow librarians - please join us!
