UNIVERSITY OF LONDON LIBRARY
HISTORIC COLLECTIONS: SUMMER 2001
This summer we are pleased to announce that we will be undertaking a major
programme of work to improve the facilities for the Historic Collections
Services. This will involve upgrading of research and teaching
accommodation and new storage areas to promote the continued preservation
of our Historic Collections.
From May to October 2001 services may be interrupted while collection moves
and building works take place. There will be limited periods during which
certain items will be inaccessible, affecting enquiry and reprographic
services as well as reading room consultation. The Historic Collections
section includes: the University Archives, manuscript collections, rare
book and other special collections, and the Palaeography Collection. We
will make every effort to continue to provide a reading-room service, but
those intending to visit the University Library during this period to
consult particular items are advised to contact Historic Collections well
in advance.
More specific information will be posted in due course. Questions may be
addressed to: Mr Alun Ford, Historic Collections Administrator, University
of London Library, Senate House, Malet Street, London WC1E 7HU; fax: +44
(0)20-7862-8480; email: [log in to unmask]
