CAMBRIDGE UNIVERSITY LIBRARY
INTER-LIBRARY LOANS
From 1 October 2001 Cambridge University Library has been accepting
direct requests from all libraries in the United Kingdom and Ireland
registered with the British Library Document Supply Centre. This revised
policy was brought about as a result of the change in the status of DSC
back-up libraries.
Cambridge is, of course, a legal deposit library and, with probably the
largest ILL department in the country outside DSC, it is in a good
position to provide a fast and efficient service for loans and
photocopies.
Charges:Photocopies one article - first class post £3.50 (plus VAT)
one article - by fax £4.50 (plus VAT)
Loans one item - first class post £6.00
No charges for renewals or unsatisfied requests
(Requests made on currently-priced pre-paid BL forms will be charged at
that price)
If a request is made for a heavy volume to be sent out on loan or for a
particularly long article to be photocopied it may be necessary to
negotiate the charge with the requesting library.
How to send requests: An on-line ordering form has been created on
our website http://www.lib.cam.ac.uk/InformationServices/ill.html and
ideally we would like you to use this method to request items. However,
we will also accept requests via e-mail, fax, post, telephone and on
pre-paid forms. In all cases, you must quote your BLDSC billing account
number and unique request number when sending the request.
If you have any queries about this service please do not hesitate to
contact the ILL Office on 01223 333039. The Office is open from 09.30
to 17.15 (Monday to Thursday), 09.30 to 16.55 (Friday) and 09.30 to
12.45 (Saturday).
