Hampshire and Isle of Wight Heritage User Group meeting
A few weeks ago, users might recall a message being posted to gauge
interest in setting up a Heritage User Group in the Hampshire Area. A
meeting will being held at Fort Blockhouse, Gosport on 9th November 2001,
for all Heritage Users in Hampshire and Isle of Wight. It is hoped that
this will become a regular feature amongst local users, in order to discuss
and develop the Heritage System within our libraries.
The aim of this meeting is to meet as many local Heritage users as possible
(Portsmouth, Southampton, IoW, anywhere else nearby!) and to discuss any
current problems we have, or ideas that we wish to develop. Hopefully we
will be able to pick each others brains and find new ways to exploit this
system in our libraries! Future sessions will possibly have formal
training from the Heritage technical support team but Heritage have
informed us there is likely to be a cost (!!!) for this. If there are any
particular issues that people would be interested in discussing could they
please let us know.
If you would like to attend this meeting, please contact either
Johanna Westwood
(Assistant Librarian, RH Haslar)
023 9276 2225
or Paula Younger
(College Librarian, RDMC)
023 9276 5899
As RDMC is a military establishment, and security arrangements at present
are so tight, we do need to know in advance if you would like to attend so
we can let the friendly guards on the gate know you are expected and send
you directions of how to get here. Also, we would like an idea of who is
coming to see if it is worth holding the meeting on Friday, or postponing
it until later this year, or even next year.
Many thanks,
Paula and Johanna.
