Vacancy: Casual Assistant Librarian, Department of Health Leeds

We are looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Librarian to join the
Department of Health’s Library and Information Services, based at Quarry
House in Leeds. The post is a casual appointment lasting initially until
the 30th of November 2001 and is based in the Customer Services Unit.
The Customer Services team provides a library, information and open
learning service to Department of Health staff. You will contribute to the
day to day running of the enquiry service, collection development,
marketing and promotion, development of online services and user education
and training. A library/information qualification is essential. You will
have excellent communication skills and be able to work effectively as part
of a team as well as on their own initiative. The ability to manage your
workload including prioritising and working to deadlines is essential.
Good computer skills with experience of library systems, Microsoft Office
and Lotus Notes would be beneficial. Some knowledge of the Department of
Health or the health service and health management information sources
would be desirable, as would a positive attitude to customer services.
