> The Impact of libraries on learning, teaching, and research

> In the second of two seminars on the 'Effective Academic Library', the Library and Information Research Group (LIRG) is holding a one day seminar on 30th. October 2001 on measuring the impact of libraries on learning, teaching, and research.
>
> How can libraries demonstrate that they are making an effective contribution to learning, teaching and research? The seminar will look at the importance of measuring library impact and the challenges of measuring the impact of library services in FE and HE. Practical examples of research that has been undertaken will be described. Participants will also have the opportunity to explore the range of evaluation methods that are available to help.

> The seminar will take place at the Jarvis International Hotel, Otley Road, Leeds on 30th. October 2001. Speakers will be:

> £120 per person (£100 for LIRG personal members). This includes registration, seminar materials, lunch and tea/coffee.

> Location
> The Seminar is being held at the Jarvis International Hotel, Otley Road, Leeds. The hotel is situated about 6 miles north of Leeds Railway Station and 5 miles from Leeds/Bradford Airport. It is pleasantly located in a semi-rural setting adjacent to the Golden Acre Park and Nature Reserve. A bus will leave the railway station at 9.00am to take delegates from the railway station to the hotel. It will leave the hotel for the railway station at 4.15pm with an opportunity to alight at Leeds Metropolitan University to see the new Learning Centre at the City Campus
