RSLP Retroconversion Project in Middle Eastern Studies
Senior Library Assistant
This is a fixed-term, externally-funded post, available from
1st August 2001 to 31st July 2002.
Working on this RSLP-funded project, the postholder will
be involved in creating catalogue records for material in
the Library’s collection of Hebrew language material;
records will be created in machine-readable form to
RSLP project standards, using systems allowing input in
both Hebrew and romanised script.
Applicants must have a fluent understanding of Hebrew
texts and the construction of Hebrew script and have
experience in AACR2 and either MARC21 or UKMARC
and Hebrew romanisation according to the ALA
standard. Excellent interpersonal and good IT skills are
also essential. The postholder will be able to work
independently and to agreed throughput targets.
Grade: Clerical 5 (£16,134-£19,227).
Hours: 36.5 per week.
