Libraries with collections of Readex opaque microcards often find it difficult to maintain the card readers which appear to be obsolete.
A year or so ago I asked if anyone had any solutions to this problem. I received plenty of "us too" replies.
There may be an answer to this. A microcard reader is still produced in the USA by Indususa.
Details may be checked at their website at www.indususa.com
The opaque reader costs $USD 1050 plus $USD 10 for a 230 volt transformer. Indususa have agents in the Uk but they haven't taken on the opaque reader because they "didn't know where the market is". The company in the USA offer to ship the unit to UK customers by UPS, FedEx or DHL.
Has anyone come across the Indususa opaque reader?
