Current Foreign Newspapers in The British Library Newspaper Library
A new guide listing the foreign newspapers, news weeklies, and magazines
currently received at the Newspaper Library from around the world, and added
to the Library's major, historic collections, has been made available via
The British Library Newspaper Library Website at:

The guide provides details of the latest issue available of each of the
Library's currently received, non-British Isles publications (other than
online or reference publications), and will be updated on a regular basis.
It also provides the shelfmarks of the titles received, to enable users to
reserve up to four items for use in the Reading Rooms in Colindale, north
west London, by phoning [+44 (0)20 7412 7353] or emailing the Library
[mailto:[log in to unmask]] 48 hours in advance of a visit.
Publications currently added to the Library's collections include 9 titles
from France, 8 from Germany, 10 from Russia, and 24 from the USA. Some of
the major papers received from around the world include, amongst many

The Age (Australia), Die Presse (Austria), Le Soir (Belgium), O Estado de
São Paulo (Brazil), The Globe and Mail (Canada), China Daily (China),
Berlingske Tidende (Denmark), Al-Ahram Weekly (Egypt), Helsingin Sanomat
(Finland), Le Monde (France), Frankfurter allgemeine Zeitung (Germany),
South China Morning Post (Hong Kong), Morgunblağiğ (Iceland), The Jerusalem
Post (Israel), Corriere della Sera (Italy), The Daily Gleaner (Jamaica), El
Universal (Mexico), NRC Handelsblad (The Netherlands), Aftenposten (Norway),
Pravda (Russia), The Straits Times (Singapore), The Cape Times (South
Africa), El País (Spain), Svenska Dagbladet (Sweden), Neue Zürcher Zeitung
(Switzerland), The New York Times (USA), and Politika (Yugoslavia).
