Continuing the very unprofessional theme of relying on anecdote,
rather than looking up the facts...
I took my O levels in 1975 and 1976, with London and AEB. At that
point the pass grades had fairly recently changed from A, C, E (I
remember one of my teachers commenting on how employers
were confused by all the changes - plus ca change)
A,B,C became passes; D and E were fails where it was probably
worth doing a resit (if you had the inclination). U was the lowest
grade. I think it stood for "Unclassifiable", but we thought a more
accurate explanation was U for Useless.
Now who does know where all of this information can actually be
found?
