The Resource Discovery Network is delighted to announce the creation of
three new hubs, which will considerably increase the subject areas
covered by the RDN. They are:
Hospitality, Leisure, Sport and Tourism
Arts and Creative Industries
Geography and the Environment
Altis is the new hub for Hospitality, Leisure, Sport and Tourism, and
is led by the University of Birmingham, and includes the Birmingham
College of Food, Tourism and Creative Studies, University College
Worcester, the LTSN Centre for Hospitality, Leisure, Sport and Tourism
and OFS Management Ltd.

The new hub for the Arts and Creative Industries is being led by
Manchester Metropolitan University on behalf of CALIM (Consortium
of Academic Libraries in Manchester). The other partners are: The
London Institute, South Cheshire College of Further Education and
Manchester Computing.

The hub for Geography and the Environment is led by the University of

Work is beginning now on establishing the new hubs through
appointment of staff, and liaison with projects, partners
and user communities. Further details will be made
available in due course. The new hubs are expected to be
launched sometime in 2002.
