MADE TO MEASURE: PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
22 January, London
Back in the 1980s, when the Audit Commission became the guardian of
efficiency and effectiveness, new ways of measuring value for money evolved.
This process continued with the introduction of the Citizen's Charter and
performance agreements, and it is no longer possible to pick up an annual
report without being deluged with benchmarks, agreed service levels and
performance targets.
But what are these measures of, and how can we use them to demonstrate the
quality of our services?
BENEFITS FROM ATTENDING
This introductory workshop includes material that demonstrates the
formulation and calculation of indicators as well as case studies based on
the comparative assessment of figures.
BY THE END OF THE EVENT PARTICIPANTS WILL HAVE:
* converted raw data into performance indicators and used them as a basis
for comparison
* looked at the value of the ISO standard on library performance indicators
* analysed comparative data to evaluate the effectiveness of two libraries
* presented comparative data
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
Those who need to provide quantitative or quality assessments of the service
they provide but are wondering how to do it, or those curious about what
methods are available for measuring quality.
SPECIAL NOTES: Please bring a pocket calculator with you.
