There are a few possible solutions to this problem of attachments to this
(or any other) mailing list, some of which I list below in no order of
preference, and with definitely *no* endorsement.
***1***
The perpetrators can decide, of their own volition, to stop sending
attachments to the list.
***2***
The list owner can tell the perpetrators to stop sending attachments to the
list.
***3***
The list owner can remove the perpoetrators from the list.
***4***
Where possible, members of the list can delete *all* messages with
attachments (this will also mean those 'business cards' which appear as
signatures - which seems a very good reason not to use attachments as
business cards!)
***5***
*All* those members of the list who are fed up with this practice can send
the attachment (or perhaps an even bigger one!) back to the perpetrator
(*not* the list), If this doesn't get the message across then all hope is
lost!
