The Library Association Multimedia, Information & Technology Group
(Scotland) invites members to attend the Annual General Meeting to be held
at the Strathclyde University on the 15th of February 2001. At the meeting
the Chair will be seeking nominations from those members interested in
becoming involved in the work of the Committee. If you are interested in
being nominated, please contact Paulette Hill for the appropriate forms.
After the AGM Derek Law, Librarian and Director of Information Strategy at
Strathclyde University, will talk about his digital vision for the future of
libraries and information services.
Then Dennis Nicholson, the Director of Research at the Centre for Digital
Library Research, will talk about the work of the Centre and give some
demonstrations. There are currently more than 10 project and service
initiatives being developed at the Centre including CAIRNS (Co-operative
Academic Information Retrieval Network for Scotland), Glasgow Digital
Library, BUBL and SCONE (Scottish COllections Network Extension). Visit
