I send all my requests to BL via their web form, and do not receive any
transmitted reply other than the automatic confirmation, as we do not have
an Artel or ILL system, and I'm sure this applies to a number of smaller
libraries
I also send all my requests to other libraries by email wherever possible,
or failing that by fax
However, I'm happy to include a message to the effect that BL has been
tried if required

We receive a lot of requests by post, we send a lot that way too - there
are still quite a few libraries in the locations list without e-mail
addresses.
The same method shouldn't be a problem for e-mail requests -
just attach the Intray or cut and paste the relevant entry.
As to why we have to prove it - like I said in my original mail
it was the subject of a discussion on here a few weeks ago so obviously
there are libraries that do require this verification.
