Dear LIHNN colleagues,
Re JRULM participation in the North West Region Periodicals
Co-operative Scheme
JRULM has recently been reviewing its involvement in all matters
relating to document supply with a view to streamlining its operations
so that we can continue to provide a clear and logical set of
consistently high quality services into the future. This task has been
of particular importance in the health sciences area where we have
evolved and inherited many different but very similar services over
the years.
As a part of this review we have decided to withdraw from a number of
co-operative schemes in which we feel it is no longer appropriate for
us to participate. Consequently I am writing to you to let you know
that we would like to withdraw JRULM Gateway and JRULM Tameside from
the North-West Regional Co-operative Journal Scheme. Although we
realise that our entries will remain in the printed version of the
Union list until it is next issued, we would like our withdrawal to be
effective from 1 February 2001.
We should like to reassure you that the nursing journals available at
these two branches of JRULM will continue to be available, to many
LIHNN libraries, under the terms of the existing JRULM Health
Libraries Document Supply Scheme at the standard charge of one £2.50
HLDSS voucher per request. We also hope to be able to announce some
good news regarding the extension of this scheme in the not too
distant future.
With kind regards, and very best wishes for 2001,
Sheila C R Padden
