In the debate on plagiarism, no-one has mentioned Shelley Angelil-
Carter's book 'Stolen Language?: Plagiarism in Writing' ' which was
published by Longman in 2000. Angelil-Carter shows how the
notion of plagiarism is a relatively modern, culturally located
concept and uses her research with South African students to
show how misunderstandings about what is and what is not
allowed in academic writing arise. Highly recommended as a good
read.
